I’m hosting a Cuppa to raise funds for all people living with dementia.
My 'Cuppa Time for Dementia' will be held on lucky Friday 13th November at 2pm, Mount Eliza Botanica Care Community, 235 Canadian Bay Road, Mt Eliza, Victoria.
Every dollar raised helps make a difference to the 446,500 Australians living with dementia, and the families and friends who support them every day.
My Dad is one of those Australians living with dementia, and this year our family had to make the difficult but necessary decision to move him into a secure memory care ward. It was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do together. But we are comforted knowing he is in the best care and has enrichment we could not provide at home.
And as our population ages, dementia will touch the lives of more and more Australian families in the years ahead. That is why I am holding my Cuppa Time event in honour of my Dad, Gary — to raise funds for vital dementia research, as well as the services and support available to people living with dementia and the families, friends and carers who walk alongside them.
Your donation could help Dementia Australia:
- Provide free, confidential support through the National Dementia Helpline, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Deliver trusted dementia information and resources, including translations in multiple languages.
- Expand our network of Memory Lane Cafés, where people living with dementia can connect, share experiences and enjoy meaningful moments together.
- Fund vital research to improve care and work towards future breakthroughs.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal and donate now on this page. Or come along to my Friday 13 November afternoon tea ‘Cuppa Time’ at 2pm, being held at Mount Eliza Botanica Care Community, 235 Canadian Bay Road, Mt Eliza, Victoria.
