I’m hosting a Cuppa to raise funds for all people living with dementia.

I’m hosting a Cuppa to support people living with dementia.

Every dollar raised helps make a difference to the 446,500 Australians living with dementia, and the families and friends who support them every day.

Help me reach my fundraising goal so together we can help ensure that no one faces dementia alone

Your donation could help Dementia Australia:

  • Provide free, confidential support through the National Dementia Helpline, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Deliver trusted dementia information and resources, including translations in multiple languages.
  • Expand our network of Memory Lane Cafés, where people living with dementia can connect, share experiences and enjoy meaningful moments together.
  • Fund vital research to improve care and work towards future breakthroughs.

Pop the kettle on. Let’s show up for dementia together.

What is dementia?

As defined by Dementia Australia, dementia is an extremely broad set of symptoms, affecting nearly 1 in 10 people over the age of 65. Dementia is often used as a general term when talking about the cognitive decline associated with ageing – and it has many causes. The symptoms experienced will vary depending on the type of dementia that someone has.

The onset of dementia symptoms can be gradual and extremely subtle. These subtle changes in a loved one can present challenges for families in understanding how best to provide support. Mable’s community of independent support workers include aged care support workers who are experienced with working with clients with dementia.

Understanding what type of dementia your loved one has can go a long way to helping you support them to manage their dementia symptoms.
