I’m hosting a Cuppa to raise funds for all people living with dementia.

🗓 Date: Saturday, 11th October 2025

🕕 Time: 6:30am – 12:00pm

📍 Location: The Common Room Espresso Bar, Rural View

 

The Common Room has been kind enough to host a special “Cuppa Time for Dementia” Morning Tea to raise funds for Dementia Australia to support those affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s.

 

This cause is very close to my heart — my Mum is living with Alzheimer’s, and through this event, I want to raise awareness, support vital services, and show carers and families that they are not alone. 

 

Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia, and the leading cause of death for women. More than 421,000 Australians are currently living with dementia, and that number is expected to double by 2054 without a medical breakthrough. 

 

Dementia Australia needs our help! 

 

Come along to enjoy delicious treats, the best coffee in town, and meaningful conversation — all for a great cause. Every dollar raised will go directly to Dementia Australia, helping them continue their vital work in support, education, and research.

 

💜 Wear purple on the day to show your support — purple is the official colour of dementia awareness.

 

Special thanks to The Common Room Espresso Bar for all your support, genuine care and compassion to advocate for Dementia Australia. 

 

All donations will be processed via a QR code or this link which will bring you to the fundraising page.

  • Provide a 24 hour support line 
  • Offer counselling services 
  • Create and provide important information about dementia 
  • Help people plan their next steps after a diagnosis 
  • Fund much needed research into prevention, treatments, and a cure.

I’m completely overwhelmed!! 🥹 What an absolutely beautiful day. We completely sold out of all the sweet treats by 9:30am!!!! 😭🙏🏻

Every donation, message, and show of support has reminded me that we’re not alone in this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, your support is not only helping to raise funds, but also helping break down the silence around dementia. Dementia affects so many people, and yet it can feel so isolating.
Because of your generosity and support, we were able to raise over $3.5k to Dementia Australia. Putting this fundraiser on top of the leaderboard across the country. This is such a massive achievement 🙌🏻
No words could ever express my deep gratitude and thanks to Dylan Lattimore and Adele Lattimore at The Common Room Espresso Bar for making this all happen.
I sent a message running this idea past Dylan and he replied back almost immediately, he was all in. A few messages backwards and forwards in between welcoming his daughter Harlow into the world and releasing a new menu at the cafe, Dylan managed to coordinate this beautiful event with me. The genuine care, respect, love and overall passion to support this event and the meaning behind it was so heartwarming. 🙏🏻
