On October 31 I’m hosting a Cuppa to raise funds for Dementia Australia.

When my stepfather developed dementia, I watched a man who had been a second father to me decline in a remarkably short time.

Supporting my mother through his care was one of the most challenging yet life-affirming experiences of my life. Dementia reaches far beyond the person living with it, it touches every family member and friend walking alongside them. It unites us in our humility.

Buzz passed away in 2025. In the days that followed my closest friends made a donation to Dementia Australia on behalf of my mother and I. It was a quiet and generous gesture that ultimately turned grief into something that might one day help another family.

I’m continuing that legacy through Cuppa Time for Dementia.

Dementia Australia funds vital research to improve care today and work towards the breakthroughs of tomorrow. Every contribution supports families navigating the same road we travelled and brings us closer to a future where fewer people have to.

I am hoping you are able to join me for a Cuppa and if you're able, please consider donating. Let’s show up for dementia together.
